Leadership Summit

I am in Peoria for the next couple of days visiting my good friend Don Bowen and we are attending the Leadership Summit that is being simulcast at his Church from Willowcreek in Chicago (http://www.willowcreek.com/summit). Here is a picture of Don, John Chaney and myself in the cafeteria as we can’t take coffee into the main auditorium.

So far the speakers have been incredible. We just got finished listening to Gary Haugen who founded the International Justice Mission and was talking about leadership that matters. The IJM (http://www.ijm.org/) focus is on international human rights and they rescue victims from violent forms of oppression. His message was very simple in that real leadership really matters when things seem scary or impossible. In his line of work that is a daily experience.

Will have more on the sessions over the next couple of days.
